Grateful Plumber
Grateful Plumber is a full-service residential and commercial plumbing company based in Indianapolis, licensed and insured, with crews covering a wide range of work, water heaters, water softeners and treatment, sump pumps, toilets, sewer and gas line repair, and general residential and commercial plumbing. They've been serving Indianapolis and the surrounding Central Indiana area, with a stated satisfaction guarantee: if a customer isn't happy, they stay until the job is right.
Self-Initiated Redesign, no affiliation with Grateful Plumber. I wasn't asked to do this; I took it on to show how I'd actually solve their problem.
The Problem
Red runs through everything on the site, buttons, banners, card shadows, badges, with no single job assigned to it, so nothing actually stands out when it matters.
The hero photo and headline physically overlap, and nothing there gives a homeowner a reason to trust the company before they've scrolled past it. Further down, the real proof, reviews, shows up as a broken image icon, next to a wall of over a dozen mismatched trust badges collected over the years rather than a few current, clear ones.
Dense paragraphs replace quick answers throughout, even though someone standing over a leaking pipe needs a fast yes, not a company history. None of this reflects the actual plumbing work, but it doesn't need to. A cluttered, dated-looking site creates its own impression regardless of what's true underneath it.
What I Changed, and Why
The headline is now short and immediate, "Indianapolis plumber who shows up when we say we will" with the 4.8-star, 420-review count sitting right in the hero instead of buried behind a broken image lower down.
A clear three-step process (reach out, get a price, it's fixed) replaces the dense paragraphs, and a dedicated FAQ now answers the actual objections a homeowner has before calling, cost, timing, trust, instead of leaving them unspoken.
Red is used only where it needs attention, the phone number, the CTA, instead of running through the entire page, and the badge wall was cut down to what's actually worth showing. The result reads as a company that's organized and confident, not one hoping a pile of credentials will cover for a messy first impression.
